All Quiet on the MLB Western Front

Congratulations to the Bay Area teams, the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland Athletics for clinching their respective divisions. The Giants eliminated their archrival Dodgers from wild card contention (allowing Giants fans to enjoy the taste of sweet Dodger fan tears), while the Athletics clinched the division against their division rival, Texas Rangers on the last day of the season. Oh, how the tides have turned, Rangers fans.
That leaves AL wild card teams Texas and this year’s Cinderella Baltimore and NL wild card teams St. Louis and Atlanta to play a playoff game for a spot to play more playoff games. While Giants’ and A’s fans may have enjoyed the higher blood pressure from watching their respective teams leave the playoffs after losing one wild card play-in game, they get to enjoy the playoffs a little longer. So be a merry fan during the car ride to work.
Be a merry fan on your way to and at home.
But above all else, support your players.

Please pray for my family. Tonight my wife & I lost our first & only son 23 hours after he was born with no explanation.—

Oakland P Pat Neshek and his wife, experiencing the joys from the birth of their son are experiencing sorrow a day later. Pray for their family and if you exhibit spirituality in a different manner, send some positive thoughts their way.
