Giant Victories on the Road Trip

Nevada beat Cal in the first game at the newly renovated Memorial Stadium. Darn. On another note, bless the brave souls who bought season tickets in LL, sitting right above the Hayward Fault.

Many from the safety of their own bandwagons make fun of fans of the San Francisco Giants. Their reasons? For being bandwagon fans and supporters of players who cheat. But it’s weird how the Giants are doing well in the midst of losing a lot of their offensive production. It’s weird how Tim Lincecum is back to being staff ace and the rest of the starting rotation is flailing though.

Falling, falling, and tumbling to safety.

Here’s how John Slattery feels about former Cal Bear, newest Giant Professor Xavier Nady, Brandon Belt vrooming on the base paths and the just-completed 5-1 road trip through Houston and Chicago.

5-1, baby.

There are 28 games remaining in the Giants’ regular season schedule. They come back to face the rest of the divisional portion of the schedule, starting with Arizona at home on 9/3.

P.S.: If you’re feeling down and at some point, you find yourself stranded in San Francisco’s North Beach, head over to Stella Pastry & Cafe, located on 446 Columbus Ave., between Green and Vallejo Streets. Ask for a slice of their signature cake, the Sacripantina.

Sweet baby Breesus…

The Sacripantina is a multilayered cake made with a vanilla sponge cake, zabaione (a delicate custard made with egg yolks, sweet butter, marsala and sherry wine) cream, and rum. If the showcase looks empty, ask if they have any slices in the back. They’ll generally have frozen slices, which will thaw in 30-45 minutes, if it lasts that long after you leave the bakery.

Where Am I?
